ABOUT THE ROLE
You will provide technical support to curriculum staff delivering classes for the Engineering department including assistance with preparation of the workshops, equipment and materials to ensure effective curriculum delivery. It is essential that the successful post holder will comply with all relevant statutory Health and Safety legislation to ensure a safe working environment for staff and learners.
As an Engineering Technician, you will place orders and carry out stock control of items necessary for the provision of services in accordance with the college’s financial regulations and procedures and to ensure that value for money is achieved. You will provide assistance as required to other members of the team and to ensure smooth delivery of an efficient technical support service with a flexible approach to work.
Applicants must possess a Level 2 or above qualification and have recent experience in a relevant area and knowledge of Health & Safety regulations. To be successful in this role, you must have the ability to manage stores & spares and be able to work with a range of equipment including Engineering & Computing systems.
Possessing a Health & Safety Qualification and/or having experience of managing an Engineering site/workshop is considered advantageous.
