ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to complement our existing Learning Support team.


The role will include: -

Consulting with colleagues, external agencies, learners and parents to provide a comprehensive learning support service to identified learners to ensure their needs and learning objectives are met.

Candidates will work with the Inclusive Learning Leader to identify the learning support and pastoral needs of a caseload of identified apprentices, such as:

  • Barriers to learning and specific learning difficulties
  • To responsible for a caseload of identified apprentices including those with EHCPs and coordinate and lead apprenticeship support reviews and the annual review process of EHCP.
  • Help and advice Vocational staff, Apprentice Skills and Development Coaches, in determining appropriate support for apprentices to develop independent learning strategies and skills to make good progress and regularly review progress alongside staff and apprentices.
  • Support the curriculum teaching and training staff to develop differentiated learning activities and teaching and learning materials to meet the needs of the learner and the learning difficulty.
  • To maintain records of learning support and Local Authority Paperwork for auditable and statutory purposes in order to ensure objectivity and maintain quality within the department.


Candidates must possess 5 GCSE’s or equivalent (including Maths & English) as well as a minimum of a Level 3 Senior Teaching Assistant Qualification or HTLA Qualification. You will also have knowledge of SEND, with experience of working with SEND learners.
