Lakes College is a technical vocational Further Education College delivering education and training to full-time and part-time learners and apprentices to degree level. We have a vibrant campus in West Cumbria with state of the art vocational workshops and resources, including the National College for Nuclear Northern Hub.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to complement our existing delivery team. The successful candidate will have recent and substantial experience of supporting learners with SEND along with the drive and passion to contribute to the expansion of the department as we strive towards becoming an outstanding provider of education and training.


You will be an excellent communicator, combined with advanced organisational skills and have the ability to work with people across a broad range of sectors. In this role, you will develop and deliver programmes of learning within the Foundation Learning department linked to learners with SEND needs including Supported Internships, in order to achieve high quality learning experiences and excellent outcomes for learners.


Applicants should have Literacy and Numeracy qualifications at a minimum of Level 2 and be willing to update. Recent and relevant teaching experience along with a recognised teaching qualification is considered advantageous but not essential as full training and development will be provided for this role.


The successful candidate must have demonstrable knowledge of key strategies for working with learners with SEND, as well as recent and substantial experience of working to plan, support and deliver Educational Health Care Plans, including working with the local authority, other professionals and parents/carers.
