ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Catering Technician to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of our catering facilities.
In this role, you will provide technical support to the curriculum department including assistance with preparation and maintenance of a range of kitchens and teaching aids / materials to ensure effective curriculum delivery. As a Catering Technician you will be responsible for the procurement of food items, placing orders and carrying out stock control of items necessary for the provision of the services in accordance with the College’s Financial Regulations and Procedures.
A key part of this role is to provide technical support to tutors in respect of the preparation and development of teaching aids and materials such as ingredients to use in lessons.
It is essential that the successful post holder will comply with all relevant statutory Health and Safety legislation such as food safety management to ensure a safe working environment for staff and learners.
Applicants must possess a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in both Math's & English and have recent experience in relevant area including the safe use and maintenance of catering equipment. Holding a Level 2 or above in a catering-based subject is considered advantageous.
The successful candidate will need to be flexible to events and timetable changes to suit the needs of the organisation.
